Relient K "Don't Blink (Single)"
by Kevin Thorson ( on 2013-04-23 10:11:58

Relient K posted the first single titled "Don't Blink" from their upcoming album this week in the form of a lyric video. After the somewhat sad and depressing "Forget and Not Slow Down" I've been concerned the pendulum would swing too far in the opposite direction in an attempt to over compensate for the tone of that album. Especially after hearing the very bubbly "That's My Jam". The new song "Don't Blink" should be a clue to the style of "Collapsible Lung".

"Don't Blink" is no doubt a more poppy track then some previous stuff, but it's not too bad. I still like the guitars and the lyrics are heartfelt despite the up tempo beat. In true Relient K fashion, the chorus is extremely catchy. Having heard this track I'm a bit relieved, for now. If the album is like this I think it will be okay.

Slightly Obsessed #192: Heaven Is Calling: Consider Jesus

Some days we can barely hear it. Other days it drives us to our knees. But it’s always there; that persistent tug in our souls. Whether we trudge through our days or chase the stars of fame and fortune, we can’t drown out the cry that sounds silently in the pit of our being, jarring us with its urgency and moving us with its tears.
