“Why we are singing” kick starts this album of passion infused worship that I was a little surprised to so thoroughly enjoy!

I could feel the energy and passion from the music and the vocals as if I were transported from my seat to the front row of a Todd Ballard concert. The power of the music is undeniable, and the message unashamedly glorifies the One who is worthy of all of our praise.

This type of music resembles much of today’s popular soft rock/pop blended with strong vocals and catchy/talented electric guitar riffs. And a few long intros, which isn’t a bad thing when accomplished tastefully.

“Be Exalted” reminded me a little of By The Tree; another great Christian band resembling my above description. However, because I say there is “much”, does not mean there is an over-abundance of great Christian music.

I’m so excited to hear when a new artist releases music that is pleasing to the ear as well as encouraging/uplifting to the soul. Todd Ballard has nailed this with his album “Anthems”.

Mr. Ballard is an accomplished musician and gained much of his experience through leading worship at Red Rock Church. And his love for God and his experience as a worship-leader is evident in the majority of his music. As Todd says in his song “Undeniable”… “We are made to be instruments of praise” And indeed, everything in this album from the guitars, to the drums, to Todd himself are instruments of praise. I would love to hear many of these songs being sung during worship in evangelical churches everywhere!!

The whole album resounds its message with well-made, well-sung music that cries its anthems of hope, anthems of love, and anthems of a people who thirst for the One who is truly “All we need”.

Slightly Obsessed #216: Daddy Has You

As I sat at the red light, a pick-up pulled up beside me in the other lane. The window was rolled down, and the driver rested his arm lazily on the door ledge. A chihuahua fur baby sat perched in the crook of the driver’s arm, yapping with all its tiny might at the pickup in front of me.
