Rebekah Maddux El-Hakam "Radiant You"

"Radiant You" is the first album from talented and beautiful worship singer, Rebekah Maddux El-Hakam. While eclectic in sound, it beautifully showcases Rebekah's talents and passion. Each song was written by Rebekah herself, many along with her husband Moustapha, and is grounded in the Bible.

"The Glory of It All" is a strong ballad that reminds us of the power of who God is and that He alone deserves all the glory. It is based upon Psalm 145:10-16 and Mark 8:34:

"I'm coming to a place
A place where there is change
Surrounded by Your love
I'm calling out Your name
It's not about me
It's all about You
The Glory of Your Name
And the Glory of it All"

"Only In You" is a very simple ballad that is a hearts cry towards its Source of hope and joy. I know many people who will find themselves praising in worship when their lives finally get to this point. It is the ultimate freedom to know that God has you in His grip and is never letting you go. Based on Matthew 11:28-30:

"When the burdens of this life seem too heavy
When the struggles of my heart won't let go
When the pain of the past opens up again
I'll find rest in You
When the darkness closes in and overwhelms me
When the fear begins to overcome
When the ways of this world trouble my soul
I'll find rest in You
In You I find Freedom
Freedom to let go
In You I find joy
Joy for my soul
Hope for tomorrow
Only in You"

Rebekah arranged and wrote a new chorus to the hymn "Be Thou My Vision" and re-titled it: "Be My Vision" The new arrangement is a bit more upbeat than the traditional hymn, however it allows a new generation to enjoy the beauty and strength flowing through this song. The song is based upon Philippians 3:7-11 and is a reminder for us to focus on Him each and every day:

"Be my vision
Now and always
Be the first thought
All of my days
Let us sing out to the beauty of Your call
Be my vision O ruler of all"

Overall, it is a beautiful worship and praise album with a little something for everyone. Each and every song calls each and every heart to open and honest worship. Allow yourself to sing out freely to God while letting Him fill you with love.

Each song is listed with CCLI and Song Select for use in churches everywhere.
