Various Artists "Bethlehem Skyline 2"

Grab a cup of hot cocoa, sit in your favorite chair by the fire, and listen to Bethlehem Skyline 2. It’s the kind of music that you’ll want to listen to while hanging the ornaments, putting up the lights, and driving through all that white snow. Okay, it’s not winter, or Christmas for that matter, but this album puts you into the holiday spirit – even before the holidays (like me, I have a habit of getting my Christmas music out early).

After listening to the whole album (all while anticipating Christmas), I’ve noted a couple of songs that will easily become your family’s new favorites. They’ll be sure to enjoy the various artists that came together from Centricity Music to create something new and spectacular. There are the more classic tunes that we’re all used to hearing and some of the not so classic tunes.

Bethlehem Skyline 2 starts off on a hit song with “Give It Away” by Me In Motion. It’s rockier but doesn’t leave that feel of a Christmas song. Next is, “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” by Me In Motion – a song that is sure to bob your heads with those goofy looking Santa hats. A classic - “Silent Night” by Downhere is both melodious and beautiful. “Starving Artist Christmas” by Lanae’ Hale is the best song on this album. I’m serious! The lyrics in this are sure to make you smile with “it’s been a hard year, the economies weird, before it crashed I was already broke”, Lanae' Hale's "Carol of the Bells" is well done but not my favorite rendition of the song.“O Holy Night” by Sixteen Cities is another classic. “Little Drummer Boy” by Matt Papa - this is probably the most awesome version that I’ve heard of this song. A must listen!

“Christmas In Our Hearts” by Downhere just doesn’t have the style that I like. I can’t describe it. “Away In A Manger” by High Valley has a country twang to it, which is great if you enjoy that sort of thing.

If you want something different for this Christmas, then this is the way to go. Because of the variations in songs, everyone is sure to enjoy Bethlehem Skyline 2. Pick it up for this Christmas!

Slightly Obsessed #189: The Calling

The sound must have been a maddening echo that haunted him at first, tormented by the rooster’s crow that mocked his empty proclamation of loyalty. For three days, his faith lay in the grave with the Savior’s body, darkened by the memory of his public desertion.
