Kutless "Glory"

Long time fans of Kutless know that they got their name from, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 6:23. He took our cuts and left us "Kutless." The new album “Glory” is a work that was born out of the band being worship leaders at their home church in Oregon. The members of Kutless wanted to create an album of original worship songs that had a rock and roll flavor, and had a worship atmosphere at the same time. As lead singer Jon Micah says, “we hope this record will encourage people to worship in Spirit and in truth and that it brings fresh life to Sunday morning worship services, your daily commute, or any time you simply want to sing out loud and worship Jesus.”

One of the songs on the album is called “Revelation” and it’s a catchy song about the hope we have on the day that Jesus comes back for the believers. With lyrics like, “Face to face before our King with saints and angels join together to bring You praise. On that day there will be no more pain…” You can close your eyes and picture what that will be like.

Another song on the album is called “We Will Worship”. With lyrics like, “we will worship with all of our hearts for all that You are, through the best, through the worst, Jesus we chose, we will worship You.” These lyrics are a great reminder that no matter what happens, when we focus on God and remember that He is on the throne, we can make it through the rough patches in life.

The song “Restore Me” on this album is my personal favorite on the album. It seems to have a very reflective mood to it and is almost like a prayer to God realizing how far we all fall short of His glory. “Restore me, pull me out of darkness for Your glory, let the waves of mercy wash over me… I want to see the fullness of Your majesty.”

This album has 12 tracks on it and each one has hard hitting lyrics that will make you stop and reflect on what Jesus has done for us. If you are a long time fan of Kutless, or new to Christian music, this is an album you should check out. It’s an album full of original worship songs that point you to the cross.

According to the band’s Facebook page on January 14th, if you pre-order the new album on iTunes (for $10 in most countries) you can pick up a copy of “You Alone” off of the upcoming album instantly.

Slightly Obsessed #186: When the Path Ahead Is Fearsome

The room was dark and shadowed, the only sound within its walls the rhythmic whoosh of the ventilator beside my son’s bed. I sat on an uncomfortable chair jammed into one corner of the room. In the faint light that fell from the window across the pages of the Bible I held, I tried to corral my stampeding fears long enough to find some comfort from God’s Word. Outside the door of his room, a cacophony of voices from the nurses’ station jarred our shattered nerves.
