Anthony Skinner "Christmas Morning EP" by David Bunce (cmaddict.com) on 2013-11-15 12:26:13
“Christmas Morning” opens this box of Christmas joy with a very soft-rock, anticipatory sound. Of course, there is a strong emphasis placed on Christ in the lyrics to each song written.
In the very first song, the ringing bells chime cheerfully as they usher in the joy of the Christmas season, and the message of “Peace on Earth” that is contained within this EP. “Christmas morning” is also the only song that really distinguishes itself from the rest of the album, which is much more acoustic guitar driven. “Excelsis Deo”, for example, has a relaxed campfire acoustic sound which resonates throughout the rest of the tracks sung by Anthony Skinner.
I feel transported, as I listen, to a bustling street around Christmas time. The shoppers and travelers rush to and fro, while the hopeful message of Christ is being told by the musician who reminds us to slow down and remember.
Overall, this is a peaceful, relaxed Christmas album. Anthony’s voice reminded me of Bryan Adams in an acoustic setting at some points. Anthony possesses a natural, raw vocalist ability that is presented very well here. In “Glory to the king” the vocals are emphasized a little more with a couple of guests joining Anthony in song, including a harmony from a female vocalist. “Tell me the story of Jesus” closes the album with a short, smooth, soothing song, with stirring lyrics.

ARTICLE Slightly Obsessed #225: Why Lightning Doesn't Strike the Wicked
The popular radio host was on a rampage, vehemently damning God. He crowned the diatribe by flinging a challenge at God to strike him down at that very moment. He smugly interpreted heaven's silence as proof that there is no God. But what was really happening?
