NEWRELEASETUESDAY.COM SUPPORTS SHOW HOPE WITH FUNDRAISER by Merge PR on 2014-04-11 09:50:06
11 April 2014 - Boise, Idaho - NewReleaseTuesday.com, the largest Christian music and entertainment site online and part of the FrontGate Web Network, is celebrating its first-ever month of one million pageviews by rallying its fanbase to raise one million pennies for charity in one million seconds.
NewReleaseTuesday.com—also known as NRT—saw its largest month ever in March 2014, logging a whopping 1.16 million pageviews, which was a 28 percent increase over March 2013. The site also logged a 31 percent increase in site visits over last year.
“This is a goal we’ve been looking forward to achieving for a long time,” said NRT President Kevin McNeese. “And now that we’ve attained it, it only seems right that we put the focus right back on God by caring about the things He cares about.”
Rather than just pat themselves on the back, the staff of NRT is celebrating this first-time achievement by teaming up with Show Hope—the nonprofit orphan care ministry founded by Christian music pioneer Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife, Mary Beth—to help orphans in more than 50 countries before, during, and after their adoptions.
"Congratulations to NRT for hitting such an incredible milestone this past month,” said Show Hope Executive Director Scott Hasenbalg. “We are so grateful that you are celebrating by raising funds and awareness to help the world's waiting children. Thank you for supporting us to restore the hope of a family to orphans in distress.”
Starting at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, April 11, NRT seeks to raise $10,000 (1 million pennies) for Show Hope in 11 days and 14 hours (1 million seconds). The fundraising promotion ends at 4:01 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, April 22.
People can donate either by direct donation at http://nrt.cc/showhope or by donating their NRTeam Points, which the site’s NRTeam members earn by posting content such as album information, artist information, blogs and more. They can even earn points by adding artists to their “favorites” list.
Anyone who donates directly will receive Understanding Adoption & The Orphan Crisis, a free eBook from Show Hope, and will also be entered to win a baby Taylor guitar autographed by Steven Curtis Chapman.
About Show Hope:
A ministry founded in 2003 by Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife Mary Beth to help care for the millions of orphans around the world, Show Hope™ helps to provide waiting orphans with forever families by giving adoption aid grants to adoptive families. In just ten years, Show Hope is an internationally recognized voice for orphan advocacy and has given more than 4,000 financial grants, affecting the lives of children from 50+ different countries, including the U.S. In addition to giving financial grants, Show Hope also empowers families, churches and communities with adoption and orphan care resources and advocacy efforts to change the world for orphans.
Show Hope, expanding its remarkable worldwide impact, also provides for orphans with special needs in China through its Special Care Centers. One of these centers is Maria’s Big House of Hope, a six-story healing home facility located in Luoyang, China. Opened in the summer of 2009, its mission is to provide the highest level of care for orphans who are in desperate need of surgeries and medical attention, thus enabling the children to thrive and increase the orphans' chances of being adopted. With additional centers opening in the Henan province of China, to date the organization has been able to provide medical care for more than 1,000 orphans with special needs.
Along with leading mission trips to China and Haiti, with consecutive Red Bus Project tours each spring and fall, to conferences and resources that equip foster and adoptive families, to a new artists and advocates program, Show Hope celebrated an incredible ten years in ministry in 2013 and looks ahead to an even brighter future. As I sat at the red light, a pick-up pulled up beside me in the other lane. The window was rolled down, and the driver rested his arm lazily on the door ledge. A chihuahua fur baby sat perched in the crook of the driver’s arm, yapping with all its tiny might at the pickup in front of me.
