San Antonio, Texas native Marlene Brehm made her debut on Dream Records this year with her pop album "Reach The Sky". Contributor Jon Fisher asked her a few questions about her musical influences, being a worship leader, and her new album.

1. Your album, "Reach the Sky" is doing pretty well. Are you surprised by it's success?

Humbled yes and very thankful. My goal was to reach as many people as possible...so I worked as hard as I could to get the album out there and I'm excited it's being recognized.

2. What is your personal favorite song on the album and why?

Second Chances is my favorite because it deals with taking action around Human Trafficking and that it's not too late to make a difference.

3. Who would you consider your musical influences in both secular and Christian music?

Natalie Grant and Brit Nicole and Rebecca St James have always been role models for me in Christian music and Kim Walker is amazing. Favorites in Secular are Colbie Calliat, Sara Barellies, and the band Fun.

4. Which artist would you most like to tour with?

Mercy Me... I saw them when I was a kid... they were the house band at the worship weekend. Changed everything.

5. What are your plans for a tour in the Northeastern U.S.?

We are setting tour dates now across the US. So excited!

6. Which is more fun for you, acting or singing?

I love comedy... but I also love songwriting and recording is one of my favorite things in the whole world. I love the whole process.

7. I see that you've been involved with helping victims of human trafficking through the International Princess Project. How did you get involved with that and what was it like traveling to India?

It was the most amazing, humbling experience. I had a great friend introduce me to IPP and we planned the trip. Meeting those women was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The strength they have to overcome is truly inspiring. I was blown away when I realized how big human trafficking is here in the United States as well.

8. What was it like playing at the Tea Party events in Texas?

Unfortunately there was a last minute date change and I had a conflict with the new date so I didn't get to experience it but I know I would've loved it.

9. As a worship leader, what are some of your favorite worship songs?

Rain down is one of my favorite songs!! How He Loves us!!!! Incredible Song!!!

10. What is your favorite scripture and why?

Jeremiah 29:11 Cause God's promises are so encouraging! He is so good!
