The other week, I listed my top 5 CCM album recommendations for your 2015 summer. With summer now more alive than ever, I wanted to give some more variety. While not a comprehensive list, this week I’ll be giving you my top 10 recommends from the mainstream. Here goes!

Honorary songs: Gold Dust by Galantis; Flashlight by Jessie J (from Pitch Perfect 2); Wild Child by Kenny Chesney (feat. Grace Potter); Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran; Unbreakable Smile by Tori Kelly

#10: Give Me Something – Jarryd James: With a platinum selling single under his belt, Aussie based Jarryd James is making his mark in the world of music with his latest single, “Give Me Something”. The sound is smooth and the summertime song for kicking back and chilling. Wherever your vacation, or summer, is taking you, this song should be taken with you:

#9: Fight Song – Rachel Platten: This is a more well-known song that’s been receiving a lot of radio attention. The song not only is hopeful, but also empowering. Roll the top down and blare this one on the road:

#8: Shut Up and Dance – Walk the Moon: Here’s another popular radio hit for your playlist. It’s catchy and fun and perfect for summer weather! Whether you’re dancing in the car or chilling on the beach, here’s your song:

#7: Somebody Find Me – Milkman feat. Kait Weston: While Milkman may not be familiar in many circles, his beats and lyrical content, with songs like this, are sick. It’s fun, catchy, and upbeat. The song is perfect for your 4th of July party:

#6: Unbelievable – Owl City: This new release from Adam Young (feat. Hanson) is a fun song that reminisces back to when the artists were kids. It’s upbeat, dance-worthy, engaging, and will be the perfect song to turn up high or have as a background song for your summer gatherings:

#5: Waiting for Love – Avicii: The creative juices continue to flow with Avicii’s latest. Creative in every sense throughout the song, this song might just be the one to be on repeat for you this summer:

#4: Homegrown – Zac Brown Band: There’s always something about a country song that brings summer memories back. Zac Brown Band’s newest song is just that. The lyrics paint a picture of those sweet sunny days with friends and family:

#3: See You Again – Wiz Khalifa (feat. Charlie Puth): From the Fast and Furious 7 soundtrack, this poignant song might be the tear jerker on your playlist. While emotional, it recalls driving down a highway lit up by the stars or attending the local 4th of July firework show:

#2: Coming Home – Leon Bridges: Hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, another debut artist making the list is Leon Bridges. His smooth, soulful vocals draw the listener into the lyrics he croons out on this track. While a good song for a road trip, it feeds more into a summer date night with your loved one:

#1: (Choosing a #1 was extremely difficult, because it brings finality to this list and there are so many deserving artists for this spot.) Wild Mountain Thyme – James Taylor: With his latest album currently at the top of the Billboard 200, James Taylor brings a sweet and simple song of summertime with this track. This is the perfect playlist song for your hikes in the woods or highway road trips:
