Paul Wright Starts Kickstarter Campaign for New Album

Paul Wright hasn't released a solo album in over ten years, but now he's back looking to fund a new indie album. He is trying to raise $10,000 on his kickstarter page. See the video and quote below.

"This past Christmas I came to Hawaii to visit family. Once I got here I decided to stay and not return to the cold Northwest winter months I have previously endured most of my life growing up in Eugene, Oregon. I started listening to demos on old voice memos I had compiled and I began writing new songs inspired by an island in the middle of an ocean. I have over 300 ideas already. Oahu is called the gathering place which is ironic because it is the most isolated island in the world. Yet it is very inspiring as people from all over the world come here to vacation and enjoy the warm weather and sandy beaches.

I am in the middle of writing a new record and I need your help to complete it. It's been over ten years since I first released a solo album and the music industry has changed dramatically. I am no longer signed to a record company and so all of my funding must come independently. And since not as many people are buying CDs or booking shows I am turning to this kickstarter campaign to help fund my next album. Your money will not only provide me with studio time to record but also mix and master the record. And if I raise money beyond the recording budget it will help support a tour and creating more music videos. I've thought of some really awesome rewards for everyone who backs this project.

For example, I'll write a custom song for you to give to someone. I'll cover a song of your choice and give you a shout out on youtube. Wanna play cowbell on my record? Done. Want to download the album before anybody else? No problem. I'll put your name in the credits giving you thanks for supporting me. Someone will own the guitar I used to write some of my most popular songs like "From Sunrise To Sunset". There's more too!

The goal is to reach $10,000 in 35 days. If I don't reach the entire $10,000 I get nothing and this solo record will not get recorded. So I really need your support so I can record! Thanks for reading this and considering how you can be a part of my next album! Your support is appreciated!
